  41. Unix is an aging dinosaur. It is large, cryptic, and full of holes. Modern
  42. design, and evolution, have found that small, simple units are best, and
  43. more reliable. A truly modern os has a very small and fast kernal
  44. (microkernal), and possibly a hardware independant bulk os, which may be
  45. made up of shared library functions and virtual devices. A more modern
  46. design is a completely message-based os.

  48. Or so i have read. Never the less, unix's successors are being designed
  49. today, including by the people who designed unix. The new OS is called
  50. 'Plan 9'. Wether it replaces unix or not will largly be based on the
  51. computer enviroment at the time.

  54. Nothing that unix has could not be added to amigados. Unix in no way
  55. represents the apex of os design possible with modern computers. It is
  56. simply well supported compared to alternatives. IMO.
